The City of Glasgow is thrilled to announce its upcoming 225th anniversary celebration, marking a significant milestone in the city’s rich history. On May 10th, the community will come together to host a birthday party, showcasing the city’s achievements & heritage.


The festivities will take place on the Glasgow Public Square starting at 5pm and continue into the evening. The event promises to be a day filled with family friendly excitement and fun as there will be a wide array of activities and entertainment options including inflatables, live music, food trucks and more! Additionally, City Hall will be serving birthday cake throughout the day from local bakeries.


For those interested in the history and heritage of Glasgow, a captivating talk by renowned historian Sam Terry will take place, shedding light on the city’s past and sharing intriguing stories that have shaped its identity.


To conclude the festivities, a free concert featuring the Glasgow favorite Celtic Rock Band, SevenNations, will take place at 7pm. (Familiar to the community from being headliners for the Highland Games, formerly hosted at Barren River Lake.
