Glasgow Saturday Recycling

IMPORTANT
RECYCLING PLACED IN BAGS CAN NOT BE PICKED UP

City residents can get a Recycling Bin from City of Glasgow, Department of Public Works for FREE

The City of Glasgow ONLY collects the following materials for recycling and ONLY these items should go into the recycling container.

(Boxes must be flattened)

  • Cardboard packing boxes
  • Cardboard tubes
  • Pizza Boxes (Clean)
  • Boxes with grey or brown inside

(Rinsed & Emptied)

  • Steel food cans
  • Aluminum drink cans
  • Juice cans
  • Metal aerosol cans

 

  • NO paint cans or chemical containers
  • No pie pans or aluminum foil
  • White paper
  • Colored paper
  • Shredded Paper (bagged in a clear plastic bag)
  • Envelopes
  • Calendars
  • Brown paper bags
  • Notepads
  • Folders
  • Newspapers
  • Magazines
  • Fliers
  • Brochures
  • Phone books
  • Junk mail
  • Two-Liter drink bottles
  • Juice bottles & jugs

Needles & Syringes should be secured in a coffee can or milk jug and placed in your trash cart

Tarps, Blankets, Clothing. Put them in your trash cart or donate to charity.

Styrofoam & Packing Peanuts.

NO recycling drop-offs at the Landfill or Southgate on Saturday

Appliances may be delivered to the Glasgow Regional Landfill located at 400 Glen Gary Road, Glasgow, KY 42141 for recycling during regular operating hours. Landfill operating hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Appliances accepted for recycling include: washers, dryers, stoves, water heaters and dishwashers. The freon must be properly removed or the compressor must be off refrigerators, air conditioners and freezers at the time of disposal.

A truck is sent to area businesses on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons collecting recyclables. This program works on a call-in basis. Call 270-678-4302 for more information on this service.
