  • A Guide to Building Permits and Inspections: Ensure Code Compliance with our Building and Inspectors Office

Planning to build a business or residential building? Make sure you follow all codes through our Building and Inspectors Office.

There is an application whether you are building in the city or county. Both applications are available here. You will also need a plot plan, and the plans for whatever structure you are putting in (a blueprint).

Further documentation could be needed- if you are hiring an electrician,  plan on using the sewer, and/or a spec sheet if using engineered materials.

Our staff in the Building and Inspectors Office has put together 2 easy to follow permit checklists: whether you are doing a business or residential building. These are available to view and print here. You can also find a fee schedule for building and demolition of anything you might need.

For any other questions, please contact the office at 270-651-3921
